Leanne Wood receives commitment from the Welsh Government

Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood has received a commitment from the Welsh Government that women from the north of Ireland who travel to Wales for an abortion will not be charged for the treatment.
Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood said:
“It is important that the Welsh Government provides free access to abortion services for women from the north of Ireland and I’m pleased to have secured a commitment from the First Minister on this matter.
“This is a matter of equality of treatment. Women in the north of Ireland do not have access to legal, safe abortion there. They are not able to decide what happens to their bodies. That isn’t right.
“Plaid Cymru supports of this move and I am pleased that the Welsh Government has taken this important step.”
