Welsh Government loses almost £1 million in Pontypridd property deals

The Welsh Government has squandered almost £1 million of taxpayers’ money after selling two properties it owned in Pontypridd.

In a Freedom of Information request by Neil McEvoy AM, it was revealed that the Welsh Government lost a total of £979,000 after recently selling two shops on Taff Street in Pontypridd.

Plaid Cymru has warned that Brexit could mean a double whammy for the beef and dairy industries in Wales. The party’s Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Climate Change and Rural Affairs Simon Thomas said that the combined effect of a loss of funding towards the bovine TB eradication scheme, and no guarantee that British beef will comply to EU standards could spell disaster for the dairy and beef sectors.

Plaid secures promise on mental health waiting times

The First Minister has agreed to act on improving waiting times within child and adolescent mental health services, following pressure from Plaid Cymru Leader Leanne Wood.

She told him during First Minister’s Questions in the Senedd that his government had to get to grips with the “crisis” in mental health support for young people.

As the Official Opposition in the Assembly, Plaid Cymru will now hold the Labour government to account on this promise.
