Plaid Cymru candidate for Cardiff Central
My name is Glyn Wise, I'm 28 and originally from Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, but I have lived in Cardiff for over 10 years, currently living in the Cathays area.
At the moment, I am a tutor, as well as a learning officer at the Welsh for Adults centre at Cardiff University. I am also an athlete, running for Cardiff University athletics team in the 400m and Cross Country. Before I became a tutor, I was a Welsh first-language teacher at Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun, Aberdare but I have also worked as a second-language Welsh teacher at Willows High School in Splott, Cardiff.
I have worked and visited nearly all of the schools around Cardiff, promoting the Welsh language for the National Assembly for Wales and general well-being with the NHS. Therefore the education system in Cardiff is very close to my heart.
So why am I interested in politics, I hear you ask? Well first of all, I believe and have pride in my country, it is an honour to be able to call myself a Welshman. I believe that Plaid Cymru is the only party that works for the benefit of the Welsh people, and it is the only party that has Wales’ interests at heart. Moreover, as a son of a mechanic and a bank cashier I believe Plaid to be the party which best represents the interests of working class people. And more than anything it’s the only party in Wales fighting for justice and equality for all.
