Plaid Cymru candidate for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney
I have always wanted to make a positive contribution and difference to people’s lives while I was a public servant with the local council. I am very privileged and honoured to have been selected to stand for public office and would aim to reverse countless decades of decline in my community and ineptitude in the ruling Labour Cabal at local and national level.
I was born and bred, have lived all of my life in Merthyr Tudful . I worked for some 33 years in the MTCBC Libraries Department as a Library/Information Assistant. Previous to my employment in local government with the MTCBC I worked as a shop assistant.
I am also a member of Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg. I was actively involved in opposing and successfully defeated the Rhydycar West/Merthyr Village Opencast Mining scheme. I am learning the Welsh Language and attend classes in Merthyr.
I first became a member in 1971 when the interest in Plaid was ignited with the likes of Emrys Roberts and Dafydd Wigley to name but two who were at the forefront of the seismic change in Merthyr politics. Campaigns from that time include: the famous Triang Factory to the Conservative Conference in Swansea, Merthyr Vale and Treharris collieries.
I am an experienced campaigner who always has and always will work hard on behalf of the people of Merthyr, which is why I am aiming to win this May.
